The Men's Team & The Charles - It Just Keeps Getting Better

The Men's Team competed at the 52nd Head of the Charles this past weekend. And even with a much smaller roster this fall, the team fielded competitive crews across all of it's entries.

Strong Performance by Team at the Housatonic

In nearly perfect conditions for rowing, the men's team turned in a strong performance at the biggest single day regatta in the United States.

The master 4+ of Luc P., Kyle S., Eric T., Simon D. and Hamza A. rowed to an 8th place finish out of 20 boats, raw time (14th after the handicaps were applied).

Head of the Riverfront Most Successful Ever for Team

For the first time, ever, every member of the men's team who competed came away with a medal at our own race, the Head of the Riverfront, on Sunday, October 2nd.

Simon started the day with a row in the Master 1x (age 27-39) with a 2nd place finish and a silver medal.

Men's Team Saves the Best for Last on Day 4 @ Nationals

The men's team finished the 2016 Master National Championships as they began it on Sunday in Worcester, MA.

Fittingly, our eldest team member, Ev Seyler, started the 'day of medals' by take a silver medal in the LTWT I1x event.

Our Club B4x of Ryan N., Tom B., Steve G. and Ian H. put on a technical show for us and 'dorsi-flexed' their way to a silver medal.

Staying with the small boats, Matt C. and Hector D. rowed to a gold medal in the Open A2- event. A great effort by this pair and big win for both.

Master National's Day 3 - More Medals, More Points

Master National's Day 3 is in the books for the Riverfront Men's Team. The day started with the news that Paul Fitzgerald had injured himself in an earlier race and had to pull out of his remaining events at the Regatta. Jonathan N. stepped in to fill his shoes in the Open C2x event with Scott. In their first row ever together, Scott & Jonathan came within 2 seconds and one place of advancing to the semi-finals.

Another Successful Day for Riverfront Men on National's Day 2

The men's team continued their successful run at the 2016 Master National's on Day 2.

The LTWT A4+ of Luc P., Jonathan N., Hector D., Matt C., and Ian H. took the Silver Medal.

The Club E4+ of Johnny D., Eric R., Fred S., Scott P. and Mike P., progressed through heats, semi-finals and a final to lead the field from start to finish, winning the gold.

Paul F. and Jonathon R. finished the day by taking a hard fought silver medal in the A2x.

The Riverfront Men's team now stands in 4th place with 125 points, just 4 points behind New Haven.

Men's Team Returns to Diamond State Regatta

The Riverfront Men's Team returned to the Diamond State Regatta for the first time in 5 years over this past weekend. Diamond State is the largest Master's Regatta on the East Coast outside of Master National's.

From our start in the Saturday sculling events through to the finish in the sweep and quad events on Sunday, the men's team put in strong performances in EVERY SINGLE event. Our hard work and focus are paying off.

Racing Results from Lowell Festival Regatta

The men's team competed at the Lowell Festival Regatta on Sunday, June 19th. This is our last early season regatta before we make our final preparations for Diamond State and National's in late July and August. As usual, Scott Pape started off the day of racing in men's master 1x (age 50-59). Scott won the event while also clocking the second fastest time across all flight's of master singles. He was .5 seconds off the fastest time.

Team Results from 2016 Derby Sweeps & Sculls

Twenty members of the Riverfront Men's Team competed in multiple events at the 2016 Derby Sweeps & Sculls Regatta in Shelton, CT on Saturday, June 11th.

Scott Pape was the first to the line and earned a gold medal with the fastest raw and adjusted time in his heat. He also had the fastest raw time of any rower age 55 or older across all of the master 1x heats.

2016 Racing Season Kicks off at Mayors Cup

The 2016 racing season got started on Saturday, May 7th with the team travelling to Providence. Regardless of the cold, wet and windy Spring, teams turned out in record numbers this year with attendance running at about 3 times the entries in 2015.

Scott Pape began the day in the men's master 1x event with a second place finish both on the water and after handicap in a strong field of 7 entries that included Mr. Moss from PVRC and the ultimate winner, Zezza, from Cambridge Boat Club.
